The Last Straw explores a world of scarecrows where themes of capitalism, labor, and sacrifice rules. As Production Designer, I was responsible for defining the film’s look and feel, ensuring every visual element reinforced its themes.

I developed mood boards and lookbooks to establish a cohesive aesthetic, created detailed trackers for props and set dressings, and sourced all necessary materials. I completely transformed locations, including converting a U-Haul into a realistic meat locker, ensuring an immersive and atmospheric setting. I oversaw set dressing, prop management, and on-set execution, working closely with production to bring the film’s vision to life.

This project highlights my creative problem-solving, resourcefulness, and attention to detail to construct a world that felt both grounded and symbolic of the film’s central themes.
